ISC2 Security Congress
Annual conference and member community, run by ISC2
The work the panel recognised
A profession holds together through the places its people gather. Security Congress has been one of those places since 2011, run by ISC2 for the members it certifies and for the wider community around them. Each edition brings thousands of practitioners together across keynotes, dozens of sessions and the continuing education credits that keep their certifications current.
The Community of the Year category looks for exactly this: a gathering that gives defenders somewhere to learn from one another, carry that knowledge home, and feel less alone in the work. A SOC analyst comparing detection notes with a peer over coffee is the point of an event like this, not a side effect of it.
Beyond the award
ISC2 sits behind the conference as a non-profit body whose purpose is to raise the standard of the people who do this work, through certification, training and the community Security Congress convenes each year. The Cyber Security Awards judged only the community itself, against the published criteria, and that is what this page records.
ISC2 Security Congress, in brief
What did ISC2 Security Congress win at the 2026 Cyber Security Awards?
ISC2 Security Congress was named Cyber Security Community of the Year in the 2026 programme, one of the five organisation categories introduced when the awards were restructured that year.
What is the relationship between ISC2 and Security Congress?
ISC2 is the non-profit professional body for cyber security practitioners, with hundreds of thousands of certified members worldwide. Security Congress is its annual conference, held each year since 2011, where members gather to learn, earn continuing education credits and meet their peers.
Why does the Community category recognise a conference?
The Community of the Year category honours the people and gatherings that hold the profession together. A conference qualifies when it gives practitioners somewhere to learn from one another, not just a place to sit and listen.
Can a community win this award by paying for it?
No. Every category at the Cyber Security Awards is judged on merit. Recognition is never bought, and sponsorship buys no influence over who wins.
