The Cyber Security Awards were established in 2014, to reward the best individuals, teams, and companies within the cybersecurity industry. Excellence and innovation are core themes, throughout all categories.

The Cyber Security Awards team, reviews the industry, looking for the best possible applicants. We encourage all those, who are committed to progressing the industry, to apply. Our judges come from varied backgrounds and are some of the most well-regarded individuals within the industry. They will review all applications, deciding winners collectively at a judging day, held shortly before the event. Where required, further information may be requested to demonstrate any claims made in the application forms, and references will be followed up.

Judges will score entries for this category based on the following judging criteria:

Enforcing Diversity: Evidence of efforts to promote diversity and inclusion within the cyber security industry, including the development of initiatives, policies, and programs that encourage underrepresented groups to enter and thrive in cyber security roles.

Achievement: Evidence of significant achievements and recognition within the cyber security industry, including awards, publications, and speaking engagements.

Cyber Personality of the Year

The Cyber Personality of the Year award recognises an exceptional individual who has demonstrated outstanding leadership, advocacy, and expertise in the field of cyber security. This award celebrates individuals who have earned a reputation as thought-leaders and have made significant contributions to the cyber security industry by raising its profile and developing others.

Judges will score entries for this category based on the following judging criteria:

Reputation: Evidence of a strong reputation in the cyber security industry, including recognition by peers, industry leaders, and organisations.

Raising Profile of Cyber Security: Evidence of efforts to raise the profile and awareness of the cyber security industry, through initiatives such as speaking engagements and educational programs.

Industry Thought-Leader: Evidence of outstanding thought leadership and expertise in the cyber security industry, including contributions to industry organisations and initiatives.

Developing Others: Evidence of efforts to mentor and develop others in the cyber security industry, including the development of training programs, mentorship initiatives, or other educational efforts.

Cyber Newcomer of the Year

The Cyber Newcomer of the Year award is for an individual who has made significant achievements in the cyber security industry as a newcomer. This award is open to individuals who are new to the industry or have made a career change into cyber security within the past two years.

Judges will score entries for this category based on the following judging criteria:

Achievement: Evidence of outstanding performance in their role, delivering tangible results that have positively impacted their organisation or clients.

Proactivity: Evidence of a proactive approach to cyber security, with a strong ability to identify and mitigate potential threats and vulnerabilities before they can be exploited.

Contribution to the Industry: Evidence of contributions to the cyber security industry through thought leadership, innovation, or collaboration with peers.

Cyber Security Influencer of the Year

The Cyber Security Influencer of the Year award recognises an individual who has demonstrated exceptional influence in the cyber security industry, through raising awareness and promoting best practices for cyber security. This award celebrates influencers who have a track record of success in engaging audiences and creating positive change in the industry.

Judges will score entries for this category based on the following judging criteria:

The Cyber Security Entrepreneur of the Year award recognises the outstanding achievements of an entrepreneur who has established or operated a successful business in the cyber security industry. This award celebrates individuals who have demonstrated exceptional entrepreneurial skills, innovation, and leadership, and who have made significant contributions to the industry.

CISO of the Year

This award is for a senior CISO who has the attention of their board and a track record of delivering results. Someone who has created a security culture throughout the organisation. An exceptional leader, both internally and within the industry.

Judges will score entries for this category based on the following judging criteria:

Achievement: Evidence of significant achievements in the field of information security, including implementing innovative strategies, identifying and mitigating emerging threats, and achieving measurable results that have positively impacted the organisation.

Security Culture: Evidence of establishing and fostering a strong security culture throughout the organisation, including the development and implementation of security policies and procedures, awareness and training programs, and incident response plans.

Leadership: Evidence of exceptional leadership qualities, including the ability to inspire, motivate, and engage teams, stakeholders, and board members, as well as to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.

Contribution to the Industry: Evidence of contributions to the cyber security industry through thought leadership, innovation, or collaboration with peers.

Cyber Educator of the Year

The Cyber Educator of the Year award is for an educator who has made significant contributions to the field of cyber security education. This award recognises individuals who have demonstrated exceptional skill in educating and mentoring others in the principles and practices of cyber security.

Judges will score entries for this category based on the following judging criteria:

Judges will score entries for this category based on the following criteria:
